Resizing images with Irfan view

IrfanView is a very fast, small, compact and innovative FREEWARE (for non-commercial use) graphic viewer for Windows 9x/ME/NT/2000/XP/2003/Vista.

It is trying to be simple for beginners and powerful for professionals.

How to Resize Images:

  1. Load up IfanView
  2. Click on File then go down and click on Open…



  3. Go to where your pictures are stored on your computer, and select the image you want to resize and then press open.



  4. This will then display your image in IrfanView.


  5. Go to Image on the toolbar and then scroll down to Resize/Resample…


  6. This will bring up this window box.


  7. Where it says “Set new size:” Insert the width of the image. Do not worry about inserting a value for the height as it will change when you type the number in the width. Click Ok once you have type the width in.


  8. This has now made the image smaller and you now need to save the new image. Click on File then go down to Save as…


  9. Where it says file name you might want to type in resized after the file name and then click Save.


  10. That is all done and you can now upload your file to the website.
